STRING BEANS & TOASTED HAZELNUTS
String Beans & Toasted Hazelnuts

Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts, roughly chopped
- 1 lb string beans, trimmed
- 1/2 tsp salt & 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 shallot, minced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Place the hazelnuts on a small baking sheet and place in an oven or toaster oven for 3-5 mins on 350F until perfectly toasted. Watch it carefully so they don’t burn. Take out of the oven and rub together in a towel to get rid of all the skin. Set aside.
- Wash and trim the string beans. Place the string beans in a medium bowl and toss salt and pepper. On a medium nonstick pan, over medium heat, add the veggie oil then the string beans and water (be careful, it will splatter) and cover for 3 mins until the string beans are tender but not mushy. Add the shallots, garlic and lemon. Combine everything allow to absorb all the flavors for another 2-3 mins. Add salt to taste. Transfer the string beans onto a plate and sprinkle with toasted hazelnuts. Enjoy!
