CRANBERRY BOURBON COCKTAIL
Cranberry Bourbon Cocktail
The holidays are my favorite time of year! Tis the season to get toasty by the fire with a festive cocktail that screams Christmas and let’s not forget Christmas music in the background. This Cranberry Bourbon Cocktail has been one of my perfect holiday drinks to make for a party or just a night. Every sip is pure bliss.
Here is what you will need:
a good bottle of bourbon - I would recommend Four Roses Bourbon for cocktails
unsweetened cranberry juice
water
rosemary sprigs
white sugar
ice
cranberries for garnish
The bourbon and rosemary make this a fall friendly drink and the cranberry adds a holiday flare. When it comes to holiday drinks though, I like to step up my game and add a little something extra, therefore, I make my own rosemary infused simple syrup. Just add 1 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar with 2 springs of rosemary in a medium pot over medium -low heat. Slowly stir continuously until the sugar has completely dissolved. Allow to simmer for about 2 mins after. Take off the heat and set aside for 15-20 mins to allow the rosemary to seep into the simple syrup and cool. Remove and discard the rosemary sprigs then pour the simple syrup into a small glass jar and place in the fridge for 30mins - 1hr to completely cool. So simple and highly recommend this step.
Once the rosemary infused simple syrup has completely cooled, take it out of the fridge, grab a few cocktail glasses, cranberry juice, bourbon and ice. In a shaker, pour in 1/4 cup ice, 3 oz bourbon, 1 oz rosemary infused simple syrup and 1/2 cup cranberry juice. Close the lid tightly and shake, shake shake! Pour into a glass and garnish with cranberries and a sprig of rosemary. Cheers, clink and enjoy each sip.
Happy holidays friends!
