FLANK STEAK LETTUCE WRAPS
Whether you are trying to stay on tracking with your new year’s resolution or planning to eat a light dinner - these flank steak lettuce wraps will satisfy your craving. The asian marinade is like an explosion of flavors and tenderizes the meat perfectly.
Here are the ingredients you will need for this marinade:
1 cilantro bunch (stems removed)
3 tbsp fish sauce
2 limes, juiced
3 thai chilies
4 garlic cloves
3 tbsp sugar
Blend everything in a blender.
Pour the marinade over the skirt steak, cover and place in the fridge for 3-5 hours. The acid will tenderize the meat and the sugar will create a delicious caramelization on the meat when you place on the grill.
You can also slice the raw meat and cook on a cast iron (if you do not have a grill).
Next, make the tangy and delicious dress/dip for the lettuce warps - here a the ingredients:
2 limes, juiced
2 tbsp fish sauce
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp soy sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1 thai chili, finely chopped
Wash and prep the lettuce wrap ingredients in a large platter.
Grill the steak to your liking. For medium well, about 3-4 mins per side then transfer to a cutting board and allow to rest for 5 minutes (important step). Thinly slice and transfer to the platter. Enjoy!
